How to use this pack
- Course directors — Start with Course overview and Module map. Confirm local regulatory and ATO approvals before scheduling.
- Instructors delivering the TRI course — Teach modules 02–09 in sequence (or as mapped). Use
lesson-plans/for day-by-day delivery. Keep worksheets printed or digital for each candidate. - TRI candidates — Read the overview and competency module before Day 1. Complete self-reflection worksheets after each sim session. Use the observation sheet when watching peers.
- Assessment — Use Course completion checklist as the gate for course sign-off. Competency and EBT behaviours must be evidenced, not only manoeuvre ticks.
- Brand / presentation — Open Index for a polished overview suitable for client or candidate induction.
Design principles (woven through every module)
- Competency-based — Instruct and assess against pilot competencies and observable behaviours, not manoeuvre tick-boxes alone.
- EBT structure — Evaluation → Manoeuvres → Scenario-based phases; tailored training where evidence supports it.
- Facilitator role — TRI as facilitator of learning; guided discovery preferred over lecture when safety and time allow.
- TEM — Threat and Error Management as a continuous instructional theme.
- Original MaxFli content — Frameworks referenced by name (e.g. ICAO Doc 9995, UK CAA SD29 v9.1, EASA/UK Part-FCL TRI, ICAO pilot competencies) at high level only. Paraphrase and cite by section. Do not paste protected manuals into delivery.
Suggested delivery shape
5-day programme: classroom theory + practical FFS / FTD instructional practice (see course overview for hour breakdown). Adjust for type, Authority, and candidate experience (e.g. SFI path, previous instructional background).
